At Bespoke Care & Support Services, our belief is simple: great care starts with a great workforce. To make sure our team feels supported, valued and heard, we recently carried out two major surveys:
A Service-Wide Staff Satisfaction Survey (20 respondents)
A Sponsored Staff Survey (6 respondents)
These surveys give us real insight into how our team feels day-to-day, how we can keep improving, and how we continue delivering award-winning care across central Huddersfield and wider Kirklees.
Overall Satisfaction: A Strong, Positive Picture
Across the wider staff team, satisfaction is extremely high.
According to the results:
60% feel Extremely Satisfied in their role, and 30% feel Very Satisfied
70% feel “Very Proud” to work for BCSS
4.9 out of 5 average employer rating
Among sponsored staff:
83% rated induction as “Always supportive”
100% say they always receive pay accurately and on time
100% would recommend BCSS to others working in the UK under sponsorship
Employer rating: 4.8 out of 5
These are incredibly strong results for any homecare provider, especially in a sector known for challenges in recruitment and retention.
What Our Team Values Most
From the comments and ratings across both surveys, several themes stood out clearly.
⭐ Supportive Management & Leadership
75% feel very supported by line managers (Service-Wide Survey)
65% feel very supported by Operations & HR
Sponsored staff repeatedly praised management as “very helpful, supportive and fair”.
Comments highlighted:
“The management and team are very supportive and understanding.”
“BCSS is employee-friendly… would definitely recommend to others.”
⭐ Fairness, Equality & Inclusion
The findings here were exceptional:
95% feel BCSS promotes fairness and zero tolerance for discrimination.
100% of sponsored staff say they feel treated equally to UK-based staff.
100% feel respected and valued for who they are (culture, identity, beliefs).
This reflects a truly inclusive workplace culture, something that sets BCSS apart within Homecare Huddersfield and Homecare Kirklees.
⭐ High Confidence in Care Quality
Quality of care is where the results truly shine:
95% feel completely confident administering medication.
75% feel very confident delivering safe, person-centred care.
100% rated the quality of care 5/5, a perfect score.
Safeguarding confidence sits at 95% “Very Confident”.
This evidences a consistently high standard of personal care from our team across Central Huddersfield.
Where Staff Say We Can Improve
No survey is complete without constructive feedback, and our team offered some helpful suggestions that will shape our next steps.
1️⃣ More Travel Time Between Visits
This was the single biggest theme in open responses.
Several staff reported finishing late due to travel pressures.
Many requested more consistent spacing between calls.
2️⃣ Even More Communication
While communication ratings were excellent, a few staff asked for:
More rota notice.
Occasional updates to recognise great work.
Group WhatsApp channels organised by geography/rounds.
3️⃣ Additional Hands-On Training
Requests included:
More practical moving & handling.
First aid training.
Training on new equipment.
We’ll be addressing each of these areas within our 2026 Workforce Improvement Plan.
What We’re Doing Next
We’re already taking steps based on the feedback from both surveys. We’ve strengthened our communication by sharing more regular updates and celebrating great work across the team. We’re also reviewing rotas to build in more realistic travel time wherever possible, helping reduce late finishes and improve staff wellbeing. Alongside this, we’re exploring additional hands-on training opportunities, including more practical moving & handling sessions, first aid training, and training on new equipment, supporting our continued commitment to safe, high-quality care.
A Team We’re Proud Of
From both surveys, one thing is clear: our staff feel proud to work here, and we feel just as proud of them.
They are the heart of our service, delivering safe, compassionate, award-winning homecare across Huddersfield and Kirklees. Their feedback guides us, inspires us, and ensures we keep delivering the best possible support to the people we care for.
