At Bespoke Care and Support Services, we are proud to continue supporting local young people on their journey into the world of work. Most recently, we welcomed a student from Netherhall Learning Campus in Rawthorpe (HD5) for a structured week-long work placement at our central Huddersfield office.
This was the second time we’ve had the pleasure of offering a placement to a student from this school, and once again, the experience proved to be a rewarding one for both the student and our team.
Over the course of the week, the student gained valuable insight into the world of private care provision and community support services. They worked alongside our senior team on a variety of tasks, including setting up service user profiles, supporting rota planning, and learning to navigate our digital care system, CareLine Live. They also explored the policies that underpin award-winning care—from safeguarding and effective communication to zero tolerance and the Code of Conduct for Health and Social Care Workers.
Despite being initially shy, the student made visible progress in their confidence and communication. By the end of the week, they were answering phones, initiating conversations, and handling tasks with increasing independence. Our team was particularly impressed with their maturity, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
As a private care provider in Huddersfield, it’s important to us to invest in the future workforce. These placements not only provide students with practical experience, but also allow us to contribute to a stronger, more compassionate care sector within Kirklees.
We’d like to thank Netherhall Learning Campus for the opportunity to work with their students, and we look forward to supporting more young people from our local community in the years ahead.
We were especially touched by the kind words of Sarah Timberley, Careers Engagement Manager at Netherhall Learning Campus, who said:
“Amazing, thank you so much, it was lovely to meet you on Friday at last. Your support and hard work with our students truly is appreciated.”
We’d like to thank Sarah and the wider team at Netherhall Learning Campus for continuing to place their trust in us. We look forward to offering further placements and helping shape the future of homecare in Huddersfield.
